How does neurofeedback work?
Neurofeedback is a real time form of biofeedback that rewards appropriate brain wave functions to calm and retrain the dysregulated patterns over time ultimately decreasing unwanted symptoms over time.
What is the scientific research behind neurofeedback?
There are over 50 years worth of research on neurofeedback and how it has helped a wide array of cognitive struggles and physical symptoms. Google Scholar is a good resource to look for peer reviewed studies on how neurofeedback has helped a specific concern.
What is your cost?
Each Brain Train Center location has their own pricing and is also customized to the client’s recommendation of care after a brain map is performed. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to select which location you would like to inquire about and their pricing. All of our office’s regular pricing of a QEEG brain map runs around $500 and neurofeedback training sessions are regularly $125 per session. Each office may have a different special offer running so please contact the one closest to you to check their current offers.
What system do you use?
We use the BrainCore software system for EEG neurofeedback.
What are your staff’s credentials?
All staff are trained by our owner, Melissa Hergert, BCN and have at least the minimum industry requirements to perform neurofeedback training as a neurofeedback technician. No medical degrees are required to perform QEEG brain mapping or neurofeedback training.
What are your owners’ credentials?
The CEO, Melissa Hergert, is Board Certified In Neurofeedback Therapy. She founded Brain Train Centers September 2013 in Marietta Georgia. Over the years she has expanded to many other states. She and her team provide the highest level of Neurofeedback Therapy to help the community with their mental health needs. Melissa and all her partners of Brain Train Centers across the country are determined to help as many families as possible improve their brain health. Her passion is to educate others about the healing power of their brain naturally and efficiently.
Do you bill through insurance?
We do not bill through insurance or Medicaid/Medicare. We have had some clients have success with reimbursement of paid services by using these cpt codes: 95957 for QEEG brain mapping and 90901 for neurofeedback brain training. We do not have an NPI number and are therefore unable to be “in/out of network” for providers nor do we require referrals.

Melissa has a passion to work with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. She is also the founder of the non-profit Healing Our Heroes, funded to help give back to our Veterans and other Heroes who have returned home and show signs of PTSD. Neurofeedback when combined with the correct therapies can make great changes in the lives of many families.
